What happens to a question asked on The Bible Agent.
Where your question goes
Your question, with the Bible passages found for it, goes to the language models that answer it. They run at a model provider, Groq (api.groq.com). Groq’s own terms and privacy policy apply to what it is sent, and say what it keeps and how it uses it. The search for passages runs inside this server. A search, unlike a question, is not sent to any model provider.
What this site keeps
- The server’s logs record each request (what was asked for, how it went, how long it took) and each answer: its points and the checks’ reasons, which are the model’s own words and can repeat parts of your question. The question itself is logged only as a short hash, and so is a saying it quotes. The hash is keyed with a secret kept on this server: it tells that two requests asked the same question, but a question or saying someone guesses cannot be matched to it without that secret. The logs are kept for as long as the platform this site runs on keeps them.
- The server holds its last answers in memory, with their questions, so that a reader can report one. It forgets the oldest as new answers come, and all of them when it restarts. It also keeps answers it has given, with their questions, for up to a day, so that anyone who asks the same question in the same words is answered at once, with the same checked answer. So a very quick answer can tell you that someone asked those words in the last day, and deleting a saved answer from your history does not remove this copy, which goes after a day or when the server restarts.
- If you report an answer, the report keeps your note, which point you reported, and the answer’s record: its points, the verses they cite, what the checks found, which models answered, and a hash of your question. The points are the model’s own words and can repeat parts of your question. Your question’s wording is kept only if you tick the box to include it. Reports are read by the site’s owner to find and fix mistakes. A report, with your question’s wording if you included it, is kept until the site’s owner deletes it: nothing deletes reports automatically.
- To limit how much each connection can ask in an hour, the server counts requests per network address. The count is stored under a hash of the address rather than the address itself, and deleted when the server next counts a request an hour or more after the address’s last one.
What this site does not do
No accounts, no cookies, no tracking and no analytics. The page loads nothing from other sites.
If you choose a theme or a translation, your browser keeps that choice in its local storage on this device, so the page remembers it next time. Nothing else is kept there: not your questions, and not the answers.
